Can prawns and tilapia peacefully coexist? I have a small pond that I know has no predators in it since the drought caused it to dry up! Since I have to start over, I thought I might try these two varieties. What do y'all think?

Robert,
I don't know a lot about either, but I know a number of people here in WV who tried prawns. And they are no longer fans of prawns. At least around here, the prawns are quite vicious towards each other, and tend to kill each other off.
Obviously they grow well somewhere, but not around here.
Hopefully somebody here has some direct experience with prawns.

The May-June issue of Pond Boss had a good story about the nature of prawns. Call the office and get a copy of it. It's enlightening. Then, call the guy who is the leading producer of post-larval prawns in the US. His email address is in the story. He's easy to find and easy to talk to and very knowledgeable.
