Hi folks... I have no idea if I should aerate or not... I've been reading and reading all night and i guess I'm just missing the checklist that says yes you should or no you shouldnt.. (Just kidding btw) Is it strictly a situation of if you can... do it? Ive seen several posts about a DIY by RC51. Is there a link with plans to his DIY system?
I have a 2 acre pond... live in Alabama... water was 95 when I checked it at 4 pm today... What else do you need to know ? Oh yeah... water ranges from 2' depth up to about 8' during summer -- about 3 - 4 feet higher than that in winter...
Any help would be appreciated... Thank you!!

The water is 95 degrees? Sheesh, that's like a hot tub!
I guess the questions need to be asked - like what are your goals for the pond, what would you be trying to correct or enhance, are there fish, etc. Fill us in a little on what you're trying to accomplish. Aeration's definitely not going to hurt you but it all depends on what you are looking to get out of it.
In regards to RC51's system, you can browse through the aeration thread, there aren't any detailed schematics that I remember but you can definitely piece it together from what's posted.

Pinetar, Hope you found the stuff I PM'ed you. If I were you I would setup air asap! This heat is redunkulous!!  Remember the hotter your water the less D.O. it will have in it. Colder water hold almost double the D.O. as warm water! So the sooner you get your air station setup and moving that deeper water up to the surface to get some good D.O. the better. Just remember to follow the start step when you finally have it running. In this kind of heat you don't want to over do your start procedure that's for sure! I would take it very slow! First day 15 minutes Second day 30 minutes 3rd day 1 hour 4th day 2 hours and so on till you have it set where you want to keep it for now.
