Is that a common rental item? I guess it depends on your rental yard. I can rent a 70' long reach excavator (track hoe) with a 72" wide bucket from the one I deal with....... ![wink wink](/images/graemlins/default/wink.gif)

I gotcha, I was hoping for some inexpensive DIY deal, but it is a tough project with water still in the pond.

Cut the tip into a point and beat in with a sledge hammer, then cut off mangled top. That's DIY.

Haha, and that's probably what I'll end up doing! It's for later down the road so maybe I'll find some money so i can go easier on myself

Guy I work with has a 6x6 post driver, he said it's easier than you think he drove his 4' in to the bottom by hand

I assume a 6x6 is the norm for bracing docks, correct?? I'll be checking around for a post driver that can handle a 6x6 too

Or drain your pond down far enough to where you can drill your holes.

Can you jet it down? Use a water pump with a hose/pipe set up and wash your 6x6 down.
