This female is responsible for the fry that have survived this year.

Awesome footage! Nice!

That is cool footage. In fact all three videos in your album are cool!

Thanks Sunil and Jeff! What do you think of the growth rate of these fry? I got up close and personal with them again last night and the SMB came right up to me. They are about 3" long and seem pretty thick through the middle. Is that normal for 3 months?

There is not a whole lot of feed in this pond and they won't take pellets. We have a friend that has mosquito magnets that catch a whole bunch of mosquitos (CO2 generated from a flame attracts them and they get sucked into a bag) and we feed these to the small fish. They are dead and float on the surface, but the fish seem to come up for them. I don't know what kind of nutritional value there is.

You might have to mix the feed with some other things like the mosquito maggots or shrimp/krill to slowly get the smallies to take feed. You could also try bits of worms. The feed could be mixed with water, and mashed up a bit and that might help also.

I liked the other species in the video as well... Looked like a couple of white suckers towards the end. Were those rock bass in the video as well?

Yes, that was the White Suckers and Rock Bass as well. These are the fish that routinely hang out at the feeding dock! There are usually some YP and PS there as well.

The larger Bass cruise the area to see if any small YP show up! Our only two RBT hang out there as well and take the pellet food too.

There were 8 RBT to start with a few years ago, but I suspect poachers got the others! People can access our property via the river that runs through the back of it. Unfortunately, it is hard to watch when we are at work or otherwise away.
