I just wanted to say "hello" as I am new to the forum. I live in south central PA and just completed excavation on a small pond- app 1/3 acre. We have another similar sized pond on the property which is app 35 yrs old. I cannot believe all of the great info on the web site as well as the forums. When I subscribed to PB magazine, I also purchased a few of the books offered (Pond Management and Raising Trophy Bass) and learned quite a bit. I read them cover-to-cover while on vacation in North Carolina last week. Unfortunately I learned that due to the limited size of the pond, my "Big Bass" dreams will be put on hold but I am looking forward to a healthy fish population that will provide many hours of fishing enjoyment in the future. I really appreciate the helpfulness of those who post here and know that I can learn quite a bit by reading the many posts. Thanks for a great web site and forum- Shaef

JHAP- Thanks and I think your signature line is great- that is a classic movie- just watched it again about two weeks ago.

Thanks Shaef. It was a toss up between that quote....
or
Hedley Lamarr: "My mind is aglow with whirling, transient nodes of thought careening through a cosmic vapor of invention."
or
Hedley Lamarr: "Gentlemen, please rest your sphincters."

Welcome Shaef.
Don't take Jeff seriously. Nobody here does until they want to mooch free advice at tax time.
What type of fish do you have in the older pond?

Well- gotta like a guy that thinks so highly of one of the all-time classic movies. I still laugh uncontrollably at the camp fire scene. I guess that pretty much shows my level of sophistication. Every year though it seems as though that scene is re-enacted at our deer camp. It is really refreshing to participate in forum where most everyone (if not all) of the members interact with respect and some joking mixed in !! Keep up the great work ( I still have a lot to learn and a lot of work to do on this pond) !!!!
