This may be another "Gambusa" type fish. Living in Salt or Fresh Water and hitting 5" max it is another potential pond recruit. They are a livebearer and eat algae and decaying plant matter as well as mosquito larvae. Living as far north as North Carolina and Texas to as south as Mexico. They live in shallower water near plants and near the surface. They live in any type of body of water, marsh, lake, pond, roadside ditches, ect... Quoting Wikiepidia here "The sailfin molly is a tolerant species, as it can exploit the thin film of oxygen rich surface water with its upturned mouth and so is able to survive oxygen depleted habitats." Mollies also produce broods of 10-140 live young. Very pleasing to hear. I may start raising them in a small rubbermaid tub to see how hardy some of these guys are.

Nice find Fishkeeper. Do you know what low temps these guys tolerate. Seems everything I'm reading is suggesting this is exclusively a southern fish option.

I was talking to a Breeder in Florida and he says his fish can live in 30-40 degrees. I am going to setup a 55gal tub and see how they do. It will be buried and its about 2ft deep so they should handle the winter. BTW the spot the pond is going to be put gets full sun all day so I'm not worried about it freezing or them overheating because they live down in Mexico aswell and it gets alot hotter there than here.
