I'm the new guy on the block and need some help. I just purchased 3 acres in a secluded neighborhood near Springfield MO. (Nixa MO.) 40% of this lot is in a 100 year flood plain. 75% of the entire flood plain basin is surrounded by ozark hills and there is a dry creek that drains into my lot. It looks as though I have a perfect area for a 1 acre pond in this basin. There is a county road on one side of my property that this flood plain basin drains under and I need to be careful about changing nature and causing any issues with water spilling over the road. Are there any pond experts in my area that could assist me with some expert advice on who to contact to do a site inspection? I have a elevation plat if that helps.
