Has anyone else purchased a Grass Carp permit through TPWD? I dropped mine in the mail today and was wondering how long it is going to take to get the permit? Looks like it may take a month or so.

Depends on how busy your "local" TPWD Biologist is. It took about 10 days for a call for some that I stocked last year.

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

Mine took about 45days to get back.

What are you trying to control with them? How many acres are you using them in?

This is the second year after stocking mine for coontail. They appear to be a flop for controlling my coontail stocked at 9 per acre 12"+ fish. The second year the appear to be 4-5 pounds but arn't making a bit of difference so far.

I have a little bit of everything growing in the pond right now. Even if they help a little it will be worth it. I will also stock some tilapia as well. I am hoping betwwen the 2 they will at least cut the vegetation in half.
