OK, this pond was really the victim of development all around it and probably should have just been drained 10 years ago. It's very old but they built all kinds of highways, ramps, office buildings, car dealerships, etc. all around it. The only place left for the water to go was into the drainage ditch beside the highway. The property owners have been trying to sell it for years and it was scheduled to be either filled in or drained and have a new dam built because the dam was considered unsafe - ya' think!
We've just had another 2.5" of rain this week. I'm pretty sure my pond is OK but I didn't get to go look at it today - going tomorrow morning.
Too bad I never got to fish it!
