Is there a way to enlarge a pond without damaging the fish or ruining the pond?

From what I have been reading the first step I believe would be to drain some of your pond so you could work around it. I may be wrong though. As I am a rookie myself when it comes to this. The draining of the pond though would keep the fish more in the middle and away from any harm unless you want the whole pond dug bigger and deeper as well then that's a whole nother story. I am very intersted in what the pros have to say out here though becuase I have entertained that thought as well in the next couple of years.

I increased my pond by at least 100% in surface area, and went from 8' max depth to 22' deep without losing more than 2 BG. There were (are) BG, LMB and CC in the pond. I pumped out most of the water, dammed the pond where the fish were congregated and enlarged where the fish weren't. Once that part was completed, I broke the dam, let the water & fish to the (now) deeper side and worked on the part where the fish used to be.

So, in answer to your question, YES!

Did you have to bring any clay in or anything or did your pond still hold water after digging that deep? How does one dam part of their pond off? Did you have some sort wall made or someting did you bring dirt in? Please explain more for us rookies!

yes I have enlarged my pond at least three different times using two different methods. you can see one of the methods below under dirt removal.

Another option is raising the dam and spillway.
