I BUILT A 4 ACRE LAKE IN PA. AFTER INITIAL CONSTRUCTION PONDGRASS STARTED TO GROW AROUND THE INSIDE PERIMETER AND WOULD GROW AND DIE BACK ABOUT THREE TIMES A YEAR. FISH LOVED IT AND FISHING WAS GREAT. AFTER A FEW YEARS THE PONDGRASS TOOK OVER THE ENTIRE LAKE GROWING IN ALL DEPTHS OF WATER. I INTRODUCED GRASS CARP WHICH RESULTED IN REMOVAL OF ALL PLANT LIFE IN MY LAKE. CAN I INTRODUCE ANY PLANTS THAT MIGHT BE CONTROLLABLE TO HELP WITH THE WATER QUALITY? ANY THOUGHTS OR SUGGESTIONS?

Are the grass carp still present in your pond? This will dictate what can and can't be used, otherwise it may just end up as food for the carp...
There are several species of water plants that are native, manageable and good fish habitat.
