One of them has a cloudy ness around its eye and its bulging a little bit. Should I get rid of this fish or is it no big deal. Right now they are in an aquarium where I am gonna feed them thru the winter.

Mike C, good luck with your PS's, have fun. I'm still trying to teach them how to fetch! ;\)
Someone should be able to give you info on your fish problem.

I have a tilapia I named mush-mouth due to a cloudy, bulging obviously blind eye and very malformed jaw (looks like it was stepped on). It is one of my best breeders.

You may try putting the suspect fish in a seperate tank if you are worried and can net it easily. It is most likely a fungus from stress and trying to net it may stress others and cause an inadvertant spread.

MikeC,

How about posting your question on the NANFA forum where they deal with native species in an aquarium setting?

I.e. I just read this in one of the posts:

 Quote:
Also instead of feeding any sick ones, promptly dispose of them as soon as you notice a problem. They could be carrying bacteria/fungus/etc that is going to cause more problems for you and the seemingly healthy ones.

If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.

BTW I'm not disagreeing with Rainman who knows a lot more than I do about tank fish.
