Just got back from up north and My front lawn looks like somone was
learning to play golf. There are hundreds of little spots turned over.
Anyone know what might do this and why? The front lawn is about 100ft from the pond. None of the grass close to the pond is like this.

Armadillos dig many little shallow holes. I think their range is about the Tennesee border, or maybe farther north by now.

A .22 will fix that right up for you.

Ezylman, you're right about the .22, but skunks are nocturnal, so I have been using a flash light & and a 20g to avoid shooting "other things".. it's not that I hate skunks that much, but they spray the dogs when we let them out at night..peeuuu

Shoot, the anticipation of spotlighting is half the fun of night hunting. If that makes me a redneck, so be it.

Skunks aren't that fast. Just make sure you stay more than 20 feet away. \:\)

David,
That is exactly what it looks like. They tore up an area about 75ft by 40ft so far. I don't live there so i gues theres no stopping them. IS there anything they don't like that i could spray the lawn with or hang on trees or something. I haven't seen or smelled any but again we are only there like one weekend a month in the summer.

Damone, you can trap them.. get a live cage trap & wrap back end with black garbage bag, Put a moon pie in it ( I'm not kidding) After you catch one CAREFULLY carry it off & open trap, dump it out & run like hell! I've done this a few times when they get in the barn

The skunk is after grubs. Treat the yard for grubs. No grubs no skunk digging up the yard.
