My 3 ponds were finally begining to have a nice population of lmb when ike hit. the storm serge flooded the 3 ponds with saltwater. For all i know every bass in the lake is dead. Is there any other ways to get fresh water back in your ponds besides draining it?

Really sorry to hear that Rossbow! Did any runoff after the surge possibly flush some of the salt water back out? Freshwater fish actually benefit well from some salt. A whole lot more salt than you would think is still safe.

Rossbow:
I am really sorry to hear about that. Based on what Rainman said let's hope they weren't killed.
Rainman: Looking forward to seeing you in Brownstown this weekend. Let me know if you need anything before or during your trip.

I would think that what Bing and Rainman are saying holds water (without any specific self-knowledge), and I'm sure there would be several variables involved.
Have you seen any dead fish?

Sorry to hear about the storm damage on your ponds, remnants of Ike made it's way all the way to Lake Erie last night, I had gusty winds up to 60 MPH thru here and lost some tree limbs, nothing major in the yard, lots around the area though. I was out of elelctric power for 18 hours too, that makes it tough to get a shower. Hope the damage to your waters is minimal.

Rossbow, If your ponds DID get flooded, I think I would be concerned that a Bull Shark may be a new resident. IIRC, the can live quite a while in fresh water, but if it flooded, there would be salt too. Again, if flooded, wouldn't most of the fish swim out??
Hopefully you are in the clear and these are all worst case scenarios..........Let's pray that's the case!
