I am in the process of building a 3 acre pond in the upstate of South Carolina. The pond is located in a fairly steep valley that is fed by a small spring that originates on the property, with a 60 acre watershed, and the pond will have a maximum depth of about 23 feet.

I am especially interested in creating good bream (BG/RES) fishing for my family and friends, but also enjoy catfish and bass fishing. I have caught a few HSB in big lakes, and those are a blast. I plan to fertilize this lake, but would rather not have to feed fish, or aereate.

At this point, my plan would be to stock the lake with 750 CNBG, 250 RES, 75 LMB, 75 CC, and perhaps 25 HSB per acre. Does this seem like a reasonable plan?

Thanks

I think you're a little short on CNBG and LMB. Don't mess with the bass until they get over 2.5 pounds. They will take out an awful lot of the BG fry. And they will spawn enough to assure that the small BG will be continually cropped.

OTOH, pay a lot of attention to Theo. This is his goal also.

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

If you ever come to Myrtle Beach i can give you some adult BG, hbg. That way your spawns will be bigger and your LMB will luv you for it. Just a thought cause i have more than what i need and need to take some out . I have pictures of them somewhere on this message board . Real pretty colors to them.

Thanks for the offer MbBass. I'm up in the Clemson area, so that is a bit of a drive, but I'll keep that in mind.
