i am planning on stocking my new pond in the eastern part of north carolina(the warmer part of north carolina) that is about 250x94 feet, so i came up with that being about .55 surface acres.i checked the ph level which was very good.i am thinking of stocking my pond with about 390 2-3inch native bluegill and about 130 2-3inch redear sunfish.i will definitely feed them daily.then in the spring once these spawn i will bring in the predator fish.does this sound ok if not what would you recommend?i was also planning on stocking my pond with about 6pounds of flathead minnows but the local company i called does not have that kind but said they could stock with some other kind of minnows.should i go with the the other kind they have or should i try to find the flatheads else where?thanks for any help you can give me!
