I've been fishing my new pond hard for a few wekks and have only caught a few bass but have caught tons of panfish. So I'm lastnight I ordered 150 4-6 inch LGB. I have 1.2 acre pond with average depth of 6 1/2 feet. Do you think thats too many bass to put in there? All I've caught in the pond is CC LGB BG. Thanks

I don't think that's too many bass unless growing them to trophy size is your goal.
How big are the other predators in the pond - I'm wondering what kind of predation they might see after being stocked.

I've caught two nice bass and a few nice cats but not too many. I dont think that too many of them will be eaten but I dont really know whats under the water. I just moved in so this ponds new to me.

Keep angling/observing and recording what you've got in there - species, size, condition/weight. Knowing what you have is imperative to managing a pond, whether maintaining, improving, or changing goals.

What baits/lures are you using? This could obviously impact the type of fish you are catching, giving you a somewhat inaccurate idea of what is in the pond.
12 ac pond in NW Missouri. 28' max depth at full pool. Fish Present: LMB, BG, RES, YP, CC, WB, HSB, WE, BCP, WCP, GSH.

Mainly I'm using soft plastics but also some spinners. Also what do people think about black crappie?

cimdma - Try 3-4 inch swimbaits or a larger spinnerbait with a pork frog trailer and see what you catch. Then take pics of the bass you catch and post here for us to look at. That will also help give everyone an idea of the current "balance" you have in the pond.

If you are worried about overcrowded BG then Crappie would be a nightmare. Crappie have a tendency to overpopulate ponds pretty quickly. IIRC most pond meisters do not reccomend stocking them in ponds less than 20 acres.
It sounds like you have a good food chain. With a little management you could have a realy nice pond.
