I hope to start my pond this year and I'm considering having a geo-thermal HVAC system installed using coils at the bottom of the pond. Does anyone have experience with this and know of any potential drawbacks that I might not be thinking of? I haven't found any information on the web as to wether the process has any effect on the pond's water temperature? I assume it doesn't, but I'm no scientist or contractor?

I used to work for a company that installed geothermal systems. We often configured the pond loop (polyethelene tubing) in a tangled slinky looking ball, then poured a concrete base for it and used the loop as fish structure. 1 ball per ton of system.

Just throwing an idea out there...

I have a 6 ton system heating and cooling over 4500 sq ft. My electric bill has never been over $100. I wasn't in the house until the end of last summer, though. It is an incredible machine.

Hey Moe, I'm trying to think but nuthin's happening!
