Had the day off so drove up to Webster, FL and visited Florida Fish Farms. Its a 1.5 hour drive from my house in Bradenton, FL. Picked up 3 triploid carp. Here in FL you have to get a license for them through the state. While I was there I asked about some catfish but the owner said he couldn't sell me any because of a huge wholesaler coming in later in the day. He apologized and asked if I would be interested in 20 of his bigger catfish, 6-8", that he would just GIVE me. I of course smiled and said 'Well, yes I would be interested.' 3 hour drive back as I decided to leave I-75 and travel through the middle of state back home. Love small towns. Fish arrived healthy and as I pulled in the mail man dropped off my 25 black jersey giant chickens. So new fish, new chicks, and 4 day weekend. Oh yeah, and Im playing golf in about an hour. cheers you all

Must be that front coming south. I went out this AM at 7:00 and temp was 68F. I walked barefoot to the dock, threw a couple hand fulls of food to the BG and then checked rain gauge. We had 1" overnight.

Are you guys over you drought then or is that just certain parts of Texas?

If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.

Over in Jack County, Texas, my ponds are down about 3 feet. I'm really hoping the rain this weekend will help with that. I have not had any significant rains that produced runoff since around Thanksgiving.

Good luck to all who need rain!!

We're down about 4 feet southeast of San Antonio. Hopefully this weekend will bring the rain we need.

At Bowie, we have had virtually no measurable precipitation since August. Small ponds are dry and larger ones down 3 to 4.5 ft. So far today, in the D/FW area, I'vw gotten about 1/2 inch since last night.

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

pond is almost over the bank in the southwest corner. the west side of the pond is the dam. Got a good rain last night and supposed to get another one tonight. Caught some bass in between the rain this afternoon. Used chest waders to get out to where the fish were.

Our ponds in central illinois have finally filled up. We actually have been pretty dry the last 2 years, now we are getting hammered with rain! Icefishing is DONE! I could take a boat out tomorrow to get to the safe ice, but probably won't.

My new pond went up 5" today, with just 1/2" to go to make full pool at sundown. I still had runoff coming so I bet it's full now. Pictures tomorrow (fingers crossed).

It's so clear, you could drink out of it. If you thought it was coffee with a lot of cream.

It has cleared intermittently under the ice this Winter, a good sign IMO.
