just got done with digging my 1/3 acre pond. 12 foot depth on one end and 10 foot depth on other end with 6 foot depth in between and a beach leading to the 6 foot depth in middle. will have small pgravel on beach. looking for suggestions on what to stock and how many. I am thinking i would like redear sunfish, Large Mouth Bass, yellow perch and maybe a few channel cats. With the heavy rains i already have 3 feet of water so i am thinking i can at least stock minnows and possibly more this fall. Next year i am planning on putting in a good bottom diffuser aereation system .looking for input.

IMO HSB would work better with your fish plan than the LMB. Stock CC only if you plan to eat them on a regular basis. Stock FHM if you have places for them to spawn, otherwise wait till water is covering their spawning structures.

Get your underwater structure in soon. Like in branches, old Christmas trees or even old pallets.

One more thing, put a dock in asap if you're planning on one (a lot easier with less water).

Good luck to you todd.
so far for structure i have 3 porcupines and a stack of old clay field tile. looking to add some skids and whatever else i can come up with. I was thinking of going with a t shaped floating dock.I thought about the tommy dock kits but haven't found any reviews on them.
Bill Why HSB over LMB? I am guessing because they do not reproduce? Thanks for the input

Probably because you didn't mention bluegill in your stocking plan.

I suggest HSB over LMB because your stated fish combination will not produce enough forage fish to feed LMB so they grow normally. HSB will eat pellets when the smaller fish are lacking thus growth is good each year.

No reproduction of the HSB vs LMB is another beneficial item. With your fish combo you don't need lots of annual recruitment of the predator which will quickly over eat the food source.
