Yesterday at about 4pm I drove by the local golf course and saw guys out there with the heat index at 110º. I thought that they must surely be insane, then I remembered that I had gone fishing the day before in similar weather.
So please tell me that I am not as crazy as the golfers.
Well it all depends on you goals!!!
LOL
We're going to tell you you're fine. But go post this on a golfing forum and see what they say.
I always had the opinion that if it's nice enough to be golfing, it was nice enough to be catching or killing something... But, to each their own.
It's what city slickers do when they want to walk around in the heat swinging something around, but they don't have any soybeans to rogue.
I thought it was just another reason to drink beer!
I golf, but I use my shotgun instead of clubs.
Golf is the only sport in the world where the player goes out and gets humiliated nearly everytime he plays (at least if you play like me)but continues to play. The only reason that a golfer puts up with it is that he's humiliating himself. Still, I try to humiliate myself at least once per week.
I'll be out at the course tomorrow at 7:30 am. That is crazy!!
Several months ago I stopped by at my wife's 84-year-old aunt's house. Her aunt was quite a tournament golfer in her younger days.
Anyway, her aunt was watching a golf tournament on TV. They were describing what some famous golfer was about to do. One of the sports commentators was very quietly whispering into the microphone that the golfer was "planning his lie."
So, in some respects, I guess fishing is kind of like golfing.
In my opinion, it would not be good to be a professional golfer or fisherman, where they follow you around and announce your most private thoughts on national TV.
At 14 yoa, my Dad sent me for golf lessons. After about 3 weeks, the Pro called and told Dad that he was wasting $. It seems that I could hit into every water hazard. However, I spent all my time looking into the water for fish.
I've always figured that if I had time to play golf, I had time to go fishing.
Were these Freudian hits? Subconsciously hitting into the water so you'd have an excuse to look in it.
Boy am I glad this thread is about golf.
