I was overcome and bought a new pond and acreage management machine (PAMM). 2015-Mule-PRO-FXT-EPS-LE . PAMMs come in many shapes and sizes and have motors on them. Every one of them is a necessity in our own mind.

Nice a buddy of mine just bought one of those this last year for hunting season! They seem so long with that extra seat!! Almost like a golf cart limo!! smile , but with a whole lot more power!! Very nice Dwight very nice!!

Dwight,

We upgraded to the Polaris Ranger crew from a 4 seater mule. So much more power and a lot smoother.

We go to Colorado every few years and the mule had no power when loaded down.

Love my mule. Nowadays, the emphasis has shifted from utility, to being able to run 50 mph. That aspect doesn't interest me, as I need something to work, not play.

Like I said, I love my mule. But if I were to choose today, I wouldn't have to deliberate very hard.....Kubota RTV900 series. Won't run 50 mph, but they are absolute tanks.

I agree Spark! IMO as well going fast with one of them is not top priority thats for sure! Getting the job done dang sure is though.

I been debating trading in my 2, 4 wheelers for one!

I love my Mule also, but when it comes time for a new one, I'll also have to explore what's out there.

I checked out all of the popular brands. They are all expensive as a small car. For me the new Mule Pro-FXT had the features I wanted (only goes a governed 43MPM, though). Changing from a six passenger to a three passenger with a large box (in seconds) is a perfect feature.

This is not your old Mule, though Kawasaki continues to make the slower old style Mule too.

Dwight, are the mules still belt drive?
So, when are you going to break out a torch and start modifying it?
Posted By: Sunil Re: Pond and Acreage Management Machines - 04/09/15 10:46 PM
Valid question.

That's what I am wondering myself.

At first appearance, it reminded me of the bamboo and palm leaf car that Gilligan drove around the island. The doors are just way too cute! wink

I am building a tool box mount that goes under the front seat. There is a huge open area under there that is meant to house a storage box that Kawasaki Sells for $300.00. Mine will be a real tool box and will cost under $100 with a bit of fabrication required to mount.

Side mirror installed. Console installed.

Hydraulic bed lift coming, too.
Posted By: sprkplug Re: Pond and Acreage Management Machines - 04/10/15 02:07 PM
Hydraulic is the way to go. Some companies offer an electric actuator as a bed lift, and installation IS pretty simple going this route, but I have seen way too many stripped out due to overloading or overextension. The travel limit switches seem a bit quirky.

Is it a self-contained hydraulic system for the lift, or does it tap into and utilize existing hydraulic circuits already present as part of the trans/hydro drive?

It is a self-contained unit.

Sounds good, should be a straightforward install, almost plug n play. I've come close to building a hydraulic dump system for mine several times....so nice!

Side mirror????!!!

Freak.

Maybe, but (road tripping) I need to know what is coming up behind me before I make a turn.

I looked at the hyd dump, but decided to grunt instead of spend the money. When the bed is full, I sometimes have to drop the gate and shovel it toward the back a bit before I am capable of tipping it.

Can't see if you have a winch buried in the front. As steep as my place is, I couldn't live without the winch. Even used it up over the roll cage to drag a deer up into the bed .. after dark and I was tired. No way I was getting it off the ground.

Yeesh! It makes my little 13 HP Honda driven side x side look pretty wimpy.

Maybe that is why our king cat "Igor" won't ride in it, and why the feral cats pee on it. I gotta keep all the cats away from Pond Boss and Dwight's postings. grin

Under seat storage box mount and box install completed.

Is the framework removeable, or does it need to be in order to repair the driveshaft/carrier bearing?
Posted By: teehjaeh57 Re: Pond and Acreage Management Machines - 04/13/15 05:14 PM
That back seat will be handy for transporting your cases of beer to the pond, and the long bench seat will allow for a nice place to pass out and soil yourself. Your tan lines prove difficult to explain, considering your Sasquatch dimensions. Half your forehead and toes a nice medium rare...

Congrats on the purchase...remains a distant dream of mine.

It isn't fastened. I welded ears down from the square tubing to form saddles that sit over the Mule under seat sub-frame. Lift out the tool box, remove the mount; about 15 seconds.

The engine in the Mule is the same one used in the John Deere 825i Gator.

This 812cc EFI DOHC 12 valve 3 cylinder 4-stroke is used in numerous vehicles worldwide. It is known for it's torquey power, high quality and reliability. It is based on the the Ford Escort DOHC. Many parts are interchangeable. Manufactured in China.

The 812 is about as close to bulletproof as it gets. Superb engine.

That 2015 Mule is sweeeet......Congrats!!!

I have a 2014 4010 Trans Mule 4x4 and wonder how we ever got along without it.

Tbar, how do they make that concrete come out tan/orange colored in your bottom picture? Is the aggregate red to begin with? Around here people have to pay a lot to have colored concrete and it is reserved for smaller patios, walkways etc.
Posted By: sprkplug Re: Pond and Acreage Management Machines - 04/21/15 04:22 PM
Concrete can be stained (colored) after the fact, or a pigment can be added to the mix before pouring.
