I got 150 lbs of powered gypsum from my local landscape supply co, it is intended to be used for soil conditioning,I put it in the water and by the next day the water had cleared. That is the brown cast(suspended sediment)was gone, leaving the water with a greenish tint that I assume is algae, which will be my next learning experiance. Thanks to all for you advice.
