Water temp was 46 degrees about 18" down in my neighborhood pond today. Ambient temp was 59 degrees, sunny but windy.

Water was high from recent rain, but clear to maybe 2-3'.

After about 2 minutes, large adult GSH starting hitting feed. Many of them actually suspended for a few seconds before hitting the feed. Normally, they hit feed at high speed and eventually some were doing that.

Then I saw some bluegill getting in on it, and then some larger boils which may have been larger bluegill or HSB. Unfortunately, I couldn't see well enough with the heavy ripple on the surface.

Pretty joyous considering Dec. 2, and Western PA.

"She took another microscopic bite of her sandwich, then pushed it away. Maybe she absorbed nutrients from her surroundings."
