Your buddy must have been a good pond builder. I don’t remember a single pond up there that was plagued with low water. My Father in-law was a tough old guy. Both of his folks died when he was young. His relatives took him from the cemetery to the police station. Dropped him and his four siblings off, and said they just couldn’t take care of them. He never saw three of his siblings ever again. He was adopted by a couple near Lexington MO. Became their only child, and worked hard at their farm. He was given an old bird dog that had been blinded in one eye by an errant shotgun pellet coming back out of a fence row. It was his first English Setter. He had many, and they were all very good dogs. He helped me with my first Setter, and now I'm on number six. Unfortunately he died too young. I wish he could have fished our pond, or have seen our little farm.

9 yr old pond, 1 ac, 15' deep.
RES, YP, GS, FHM (no longer), HBG (going away), SMB, and HSB (only one seen in 5 yrs) Restocked HSB (2020) Have seen one of these.
I think that's about all I should put in my little pond.
