Augie I'm looking for a way to harvest a bunch of CC this year. I'm interested in that trap of yours. You call it a B trap. Is it purchased or home made?
My thinking is some sort of trap that I can leave open ended, put feed into it daily through maybe a piece of PVC pipe from the surface on the dock, then when the CC get used to getting fed in it close the trap end off. That is how it works in my minds eye. How it would actually work I don't know.
Anyone with good ideas to harvest CC with minimal effort would be appreciated. We like to fish for them but catch a few and I think they send out a signal or something for the others to quit biting. I would like to get 10 or 20 at a time so we can clean a bunch at once.
I bet I have a hundred, for sure at least 50, that I should remove this year. I see lots all around the pond when I feed. Lots in the 2-3# range and I see one every now and then maybe around 4#. Time to get them out and invite them to dinner.
