I have some neighbors who absolutely love to fire off dozens of rounds whenever the mood strikes them, particularly weekends. Sometimes it's like they are practicing for a Russian invasion of Texas. Keeps potential trespassers away pretty well. Heck, nearly kept us away from buying the property before we got used to it & they realized we were okay.
Would not want to trespass in our neighborhood. Everybody is armed, some are eager to demonstrate shooting skills.
