I'm in northern Missouri and have a 3/4 acre pond 12ft deep. We've had a mild winter with quick freezing and thawing cycles. I had about 3" of ice on it so I figured what the heck. I cut a hole in it and dropped my Go-Pro down there. The weeds on the bottom look like Chara and are covered in what looks like filamentous algae. The ice is now melted and I can see it growing. I haven't added pond dye or sprayed for the algae yet as I don't know if its to early. Its going to be 65 deg today with freezing weather later this week. Any suggestions is appreciated as I want to control the algae as soon as possible. Cool part was my bass look to be doing fine as I had several cruise by to check out the camera.
