Refilled feeders in anticipation of trout stocking next week. Also put up posts around forage pond where we'll string up brightly colored twine across the water to deter cormorants. Great tip from a PB member!

I'm really blessed with good watershed, main BOW is full and overflow pipe is running. We saw a bald eagle flying across the pond, sight that always encourages us. Maybe even better, we saw no cormorants at all. How long that will last is anybody's guess. Expect Canada geese any time now. I dislike how they poo everywhere and snarf up fish food, but my wife loves their beauty & antics. We also observed tiny fish around dock, almost certainly CNBG spawned within the last few weeks. Beaver continues to wreak havoc on cattails, fine by me.

Limed a couple of weeks ago. As Bob L stresses, happy water is number one factor, without which none of the other stuff works. Still got so much to do, including felling trees into pond to create cover, adding grass carp to control bushy pondweed, but at least things are headed in the right direction.
