John, that's a good point about FA and BPW competing with each other. I'm wondering if I made a mistake stocking TP. Maybe they can do more harm than good when they eat the algae in a BOW with abundant bushy pondweed.
I've asked permission to put in 24 grass carp to help control BPW, 3 per acre. Probably will need more, but based on what I've read it's smarter to undershoot than overshoot. Also investigating the intriguing possibility of a lake mat to spot control BPW. Eric West clued me in on this idea, gonna check it out. Hopefully I can also do a drawdown this fall/winter. Tried & failed last year, but now I have a better game plan.
