I use some type of powdered poison(pick one). Stir the nest and they come boiling out. Put a bunch of the powder on. Problem solved. I assume that they get the poison on them and take it back downstairs.
Or, stir the nest and when they come out give them a healthy dose of charcoal lighter fluid and light them up. My theory is that I kill enough to weaken them so they can't feed the queen and young.
