Zep, yes I do use cinder blocks but like Pat I have used sand bags also. With the size cedars (7 to 10') I am sinking I can use one block because I know they will sink on their own at some point. And Pat, Bob Lusk most always recommends setting brush close to the spawning area. Todd Overton recommended I build brush piles along the shoreline, so it was 3'+- depths. Course that was for spawning cnbg. I would think Cp would spawn in the same area. I am not so sure brush sunk in deeper waters would help survival of Cp fry even though it might be a great place to fish for larger sized Cp.
Pat, it would be fun to get a group of us guys together for a cp fishing trip on Public waters where maybe the best of the best might be transported back to the pond. Can be pretty easy to locate and catch cp this time of year at Lake o Pines or Caddo. Just a thought but then again for what money is spent like a couple of hundred on a trip maybe it's better to contact Todd or Bob.
