I hand feed my fish. Lately they have been eating a whole bunch. I had been expecting to save some $$ over the winter but so far these guys have only slowed down during a couple of cold snaps.

They have moved out to slightly deeper water, not much going on near shore. And on colder days they go for the sinking pellets first then bolt to the surface and dive right back down to warmer water. Sometimes they breach like a whale.

I checked water (surface) temps today. 70F.

The local ranchers have a saying - "What you get in the Spring depends on what you feed in the Winter". I expect it holds for fish too, at least here in the South.
