We are near the center of the deer disease area. In the last 3 years, we have gone from routinely seeing herds of 20 or more to rarely seeing a deer.
That is unfortunate. Hoping hunter pressure can keep our herd healthy but that is probably wishful thinking. DNR cut our county bonus-doe number in half (from 4 to 2), but folks that hunt in multiple counties can take the county limit in each county (seems like odd regulations to me). Filled my 2-deer archery limit, so now on to bonus deer after processing doe in barn. Can also take an additional doe with muzzle loader. Far more complicated than necessary...
