I haven't seen one for rent around here in many years. If you only mow it once a year, it won't be very bad. Just mow a different half acre 12 times. They will mow about a half acre an hour in third gear with a sharp heavy brush blade. Get the heavy double sided brush blade with it if you buy a DR. It's completely worth the extra cost. The blade that comes on them is too light. You need the heavy flywheel effect.
