My limit for my 26" DR walk behind would be about an acre. I mainly use it to trim in tight spots, steep areas, around and under trees, and along the ponds and creek where it would be dangerous to use a ride on. I use the little tractor and 5 foot rotary cutter for anything else that cannot be finish mowed. If I could depend on the hay farmers to always cut, I wouldn't even need the rotary cutter.
The DR also came in handy a couple times when a neighbor lady let her small yard get away and it couldn't be mowed with a finish mower.
