I have been back and forth on how to deal with a 6 acre field. On one hand a mid-range 50's to 70's era used tractor seems like a good idea, due to a large deck and being able to sit... but the turn radius stinks for tight spots and if you want to chew under large limbs, you need a different tool for that.

Then I look up cost for new tires, wires, belts, plugs, and hydraulic fluid. OMG. That is a new shiny DR mower, and you still have to deal with an old clunker that needs constant work and leaks fluids for fun. Also, you need chains for any kind of slope, and that is another $800! For chains!

And forget about it on soft spots. I sunk a tractor to the axial twice on my dam. It had filled tires and chains. I had to drain the water by digging ditches and wait a month for it to dry out to get it out.

So I have been thinking a DR may be in the cards for me. I don't mind the exercise much, as I used to mow everything with a walk-behind. Thanks everyone for chiming in here.
