Fighting FA (filamentous algae) and weeds is best done with steeper banks and deeper waters...to a point. Too steep and the pond can become difficult to enter and, more importantly, get back out of (read drowning hazard). Steep banks can also lead to small land slides which can be dangerous and tend to fill the pond back up faster with the dirt.

Large fish of most any kind can be grown in small ponds, but the hobby time to manage it increases exponentially. So, do some homework and give it your best shot...
