Hey Shorty, I'm curious, does 30" of height still allow you to keep a thermocline?
The answer is yes! I waded out neck deep into the pond this afternoon near the shallow aerator while it was running and could feel the thermocline with my feet, it is quite a bit cooler, I'm guessing at least 5-7 degrees cooler than the water above. My shallow aerator is running 24/7 and current surface temp is 89F.
