We are living in Frederick County Maryland and we have a small farm with an estimated one acre pond and would love to get some advice on how to restore it.
The farm was established in year 1802 as a homestead according to county research and originally a two story log cabin was built complete with running water through a spring in the basement. Next a more substantial log building was built and added on to in the mid 1800's. So that is now a 5 bedroom 3 bathroom farm house Also a large bank barn and wagon shed was built in the mid 1800's as well as a log cabin smoke house. All the buildings are still here in good shape.
A portion of the land we have planted with 5000 hardwood trees about 5 years ago and the rest is open.
We are retired and enjoy living on the farm located next to the Appalachian trail. We have bears and deers around as well as other wildlife.
