wannapond, I toyed with filling my pond by using the yard spigot (regualr ole' well and well pump) and found that the pond would gain about 1 inch a day from bone dry empty. My pond is about 1/4 acre so it should grossly compare to a 1/8 acre pond when both are empty. As the pond gets more full the fill rate would slow down exponentailly...I figured it would take about one year to fill it up with my garden hose and surely it would fill by rain soon enough. The pond only filled to halfway by April of 2017 after being completed late 2016, then in May, it filled the rest of the way and well over the overflow pipe in on day! I was glad the wait was over, I thought it would never fill up.
