I had a scout at the pond day before yesterday. I try to discourage the scouts. I think it helps to keep numbers of them away. My Golden Retriever who is now a year old is told "See That Bird? He Is Eating my fish" and he will start Growling and barking and busting the water after the cormorants, GBH or any other bird when I tell him "bird eating my fish"
He has grown to be quite birdy and is going to make a good duck hunting dog.
