Thanks Zep. I think do to their thirsty nature they contribute to some water loss in the drier months, but they also keep a lot of the water shaded and cooler. They dump millions of leaves in every fall, but are pretty to look at. We like the peaceful feeling.

Bob, it’s hard to believe you’ve missed some of these hard rains we’ve had in St Louis. Your place is a little like mine. I always see big storms barreling down on the farm, then they magically divide and somehow go around our farm. Eventually you’ll get the series of gullywashers you need.
