Depending on the exact time of the year we have a GBH that's a regular visitor but it'll leave pretty much as soon as we step outside. We're about 75'-100' away at that point.
We also get a Green Heron once in a great while. Had one stop by a few weeks back and when I went outside it simply walked over to the far side of the pond.
Finally, had a snowy egret a while back too. I got some pics but was pretty far away since I didn't think it'd stick around. It went to the other side of the pond while I put the inflatable boat in the water to do some maintenance but I was able to get within 10'-15' a couple of times before it got tired of the intrusion and left.
We too have killdeer depending on the time of year but I didn't realize they would go fishing. I figured they were just out there for the water.
