DrLuke, nice job. I might throw a tilapia or two in the cage if it's going to be in the water long term. They'll eat algae off the netting, and keep it clean. Boy, I sure wish I could. I've fought FA since I bought my place, and tilapia would seem to be a great way to manage FA, and then feed the apex predators when they die off in the fall. Unfortunately, the Iowa DNR says no go on tilapia. I've written and called to no effect. But that's as far as I've advanced the 'tilapia cause' in Iowa! Maybe some younger, motivated feller, who can stand the smell of BS, will wander into the capital some day and clear the way.
