I have often considered adding an albino catfish or two, maybe a carp/koi to my small pond for "kicks", but certainly have not found it necessary as of yet. My pond is only a year old. I don't think you are doing anything terrible by adding a koi for fun, but I would not add two. Koi can be a dirty word if you goal is anything other than a lot of koi in a muddy pond. I would not add any carp until you see a need for them. With a mostly deep pond, you should not have a lot of problems with vegetation, so, I would wait on adding any carp. There are plenty of ponds out there with no carp, and IMO it is typically the old ponds that have silted in and get real shallow around the edges that have problems with overgrowth and could utilize a carp's appetite for veggies.
