Hi guys, its been a long time since i've been here. I need some help. I have a 1/4 acre pond in California (wish it were somewhere else...) , it has a thick liner and its about 10 years old. I dug a 12 x 16 basement under a kitchen addition this summer and noticed the soil was moist at the bottom of the hole. It seemed to be about the same level as the pond. Didnt think much of it at the time. Now that its done I've been topping off the pond , it was about 3 feet low during basement construction, I have drain rock and a sump with pump under basement floor and the more I top off the pond the more my sump pump runs , way more than when we had rain... I have rock sides covering the liner about 2 feet under the water level, It would be next to impossible to remove all the rock to inspect it. Would drillers mud work or is there a known trick to locating a leak in a liner other than visual inspection? Thanks in advance!
