I'm loaded with rattlers but really don't worry about them and don't wear special boots. I've spent a lot of time outdoors in my life, Boy Scouts, camping, fishing, hiking....but I've actually never seen a rattle snake in the wild....but I will start wearing my mud boots in the woods soon.  
Fishing has never been about the fish....
