If you have some shallow water coves where bass might be spawning, you might be able to use a seine to at least see if you have some. Most will probably jump over the seine top (where you could see them go by). Ideally, a big seine (8' x 100') would be best, but you could probably get some idea even with the biggest minnow seine (4' x 20'?) you can find - just have people on both ends making a lot of movement.
