I'd agree with Brian -- yearly adjustments. Do some water tests this fall and see how much alkalinity has been impacted. For my adjustments, I buy 1000 lbs of pulverized lime from Lowe's and shovel it in by hand (25 bags x 40lb each; $3.10/bag * 25 = $78). It's more work to do this by hand, but cost effective if you can't get bulk lime shipped/spread cheaply.
